WELLPOINT People Counter for facility management

Building People Counting & Occupancy Analytics

A building is a set of doors. Count the right ones and you know how the building is used: how many people come in each day, which floors are busy, when the peaks are, and how full the building is right now.

Facility-management use cases

Building foot traffic

Daily visitors per entrance, for public buildings, offices, campuses, clinics and mixed-use sites.

Building occupancy

Current occupancy from all counted entrances, with thresholds for safety limits and evacuation planning.

Usage by floor or area

Counters at stairwells, lift lobbies or department doors show how each part of the building is used.

Cleaning and services

Plan cleaning rounds, restroom servicing and reception staffing on real traffic, not fixed schedules.

Energy and climate

Occupancy patterns help decide when ventilation, lighting and heating can follow actual use.

Why it fits existing buildings

Retrofitting technology into a building normally means cabling, network ports and a project with the tenant's IT department. The WELLPOINT People Counter avoids all three: it mounts beside the door, plugs into a USB power adapter and sends its data over its own built-in mobile connection. That makes it practical for facility managers who look after many buildings they do not own the networks of.

Privacy for everyone in the building

The counter uses camera-free Time-of-Flight sensing. It detects that a person passed, and in which direction, and nothing else. No images, no identities, no personal data, which keeps tenants, employees and visitors comfortable.
