WELLPOINT is a technology brand for physical spaces. We develop connected hardware and cloud software for people counting, RFID and retail security, and we design them to be practical to buy, install and use.

What WELLPOINT is

WELLPOINT is a European technology company. It started about 20 years ago in retail security, supplying and installing electronic article surveillance (EAS) systems for shops. Over time that field experience grew into a wider set of products for real physical spaces: people counting devices, a cloud data platform, and now a UHF RFID product family.

The company is small and hands-on. The people who design the products also talk to customers, install systems and answer support questions. That is why WELLPOINT products focus on things that matter in practice: quick installation, built-in connectivity and data that is easy to use.

What WELLPOINT makes

  • WELLPOINT People Counter: camera-free devices that count visitors in and out, with data delivered to WELLPOINT.cloud.
  • WELLPOINT RFID: UHF RFID systems for inventory, tools, assets and loss prevention, built as complete purpose-built solutions.
  • Retail Security: traditional EAS anti-theft systems, selected, configured and deployed with long field experience.
  • WELLPOINT.cloud: the shared software and data layer behind connected WELLPOINT products.

Does WELLPOINT make its own hardware?

For People Counting and RFID, yes. WELLPOINT develops the hardware and the software around it as one system, from the physical device to the data in WELLPOINT.cloud. Traditional EAS hardware such as antennas, pedestals, tags and labels is mainly produced by manufacturing partners to WELLPOINT requirements. For EAS, the WELLPOINT value is experience, selection, configuration and practical deployment.

How WELLPOINT thinks about deployment

Many technology projects fail not because of the technology but because of everything around it: local servers, gateways, Wi-Fi passwords, firewall rules and long IT projects. Connected WELLPOINT products are built to avoid that. Where technically possible they use built-in cellular connectivity, so no local network is required, and the device sends its data to WELLPOINT.cloud from the moment it is powered.

WELLPOINT is based in Europe and has supplied products to customers across much of Europe, the United Kingdom, North and South America, Asia and the Middle East. People Counting and RFID products are offered internationally. Retail security has historically been strongest in Europe.
